THE DIE CAST PRESS STORY
Die Cast Press was started in 1979 by Kasper Smidt III after his father who owned Die Cast Machinery (since 1963) retired from his company. DCP started manufacturing trim presses, rebuilding die casting machines and manufacturing parts for all makes of die cast machines.
1985 - DCP incorporated and started the manufacturing of new DCP shot ends, new hot and cold chamber die cast machines and custom manifolds to update our customers’ machines. A second manufacturing facility was built for this production.
2013 - Expanded our facility to a 25,000 square ft. building including a 40′ high bay and an 80 ton crane to accommodate larger machines up to 3500 ton.
2018 - Larger equipment lathes up to 360” between centers and boring mills to handle larger platens up to 70,000 lbs.
2023 - A CNC Plasma cutting system and large press break.
2024 - New CNC turning center.
New “DCP” Cold and Hot Chamber
Die Cast Machines
Our new “DCP” Die Cast Machines are offered in Cold and hot chamber. Manufactured from USA high quality alloyed steel and materials, for long term endurance and up times by heat-treating, carburizing, chrome plating and back to back tighter machining tolerance allowance through the entire machine.
“DCP” machines are manufactured and assembled in America by quality tradesmen. Our machine technology will outperform and outlast any other manufacturer’s machine. DCP’s machine history of longevity has proven itself year after year. Our new machines are constructed with the world’s most reliable shot ends. They are superior in performance, longevity, repeatability and consistency, with variable controlled velocities. They have super response times, excellent transitions in all phases from 6–400 inches per second with consistency and repeatability. Super high density casting are produced for metal saving profits, all backed by 61 years of experience in engineering and manufacturing.

REMANUFACTURE / REBUILD
Die Cast Press has perfected the rebuilding & remanufacturing of used machines to ensure that the most use possible is squeezed out of your equipment. Remanufacture and update your existing machine – entire machine and components cleaned and stripped bare.
What’s the Difference Between Rebuilding and Remanufacturing?
Rebuilding a used machine entails disassembling the existing machine, inspecting all its parts and replacing those items that have worn beyond repair. The machine when DCP has finished rebuilding it is restored to the original OEM manufacturing specifications. This is the most economical choice available.
Remanufacturing a used machine involves replacing entire systems, usually about 80 to 85% of the machine. Upon remanufacturing from DCP, the machine is “Equal to New” with new machine technology which exceeds current OEM specifications. This usually costs around 60 to 65% the price of a new machine and is still an inexpensive alternative to purchasing a new machine.
